Ritmo Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

Ritmo: Daily Devotional (“Ritmo”, “the app”) is published by Elena Gukasova (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app does with your information. We wrote it to be read, so it is plain and short.

In one minute.

1. What stays on your phone only

2. What we keep in the cloud

When you open the app, an anonymous account is created for you. This lets us store your progress safely. We store:

DataWhy
An anonymous account IDTo tell your progress apart from others.
Which path you are on, which evening you reached, whether a path is finishedTo keep your progress safe and available on a new phone.
Marks that you finished the morning, midday or evening of a day, with the timeTo count your days and your series.
Which path you chose as your free path, and how many free questions you have used for “Ask about this verse” (a number, never the questions)So these limits do not restart when you delete and reinstall the app. The free path is also kept in your phone’s Keychain.
Your time zone and device languageTo count days correctly for you.
Your name and avatar, only if you set themTo show them back to you.
If you choose Sign in with Apple: your Apple user ID and the email address Apple gives us (this can be Apple’s private relay address)To link your progress to your Apple ID. Signing in is optional.

This data is stored with Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication and Cloud Firestore) on servers in the United States, so your data may be transferred outside your country.

3. Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to fix problems. It collects app events such as which screen was opened, that an evening was finished, that a path was started, or that the subscription screen was opened. It also records simple properties: whether you are subscribed, roughly how many days you have had the app, your device language, whether you allowed notifications, and whether you signed in with Apple. Firebase also collects technical identifiers of the app installation and approximate region.

Analytics never include what you write.

3a. Advertising measurement

We advertise Ritmo on Meta’s platforms (Facebook and Instagram). To see which ads bring people to the app, the app uses the Meta SDK. It sends Meta simple events, such as that the app was installed or opened, that the introduction was finished, that a first evening was finished, and that a free trial or subscription was started. It never sends what you write, your answers, your questions or the verses you saved. If you allow it when iOS asks (“Allow Ritmo to track your activity…”), Meta may link these events with your Meta account through your device’s advertising identifier to measure and improve ads. If you decline, the app works the same, and the advertising identifier is not used. You can change your choice any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

4. Ask about this verse (AI)

This optional feature helps you find places in the Bible. When you use it, the text you type (up to 400 characters) and, if you started from a verse, its reference (not the verse text) are sent through our server to Google’s Gemini model (Google Vertex AI), which returns references to passages. The verse text you see always comes from the Bible built into the app.

5. Purchases

If you subscribe, the payment is handled by Apple. We never see your card details. We use Adapty, a subscription service, to check whether your subscription is active. Adapty receives your purchase information from Apple, your anonymous account ID, the product you bought and your country.

6. Notifications

Reminders are scheduled on your phone. They do not need a server and are optional. You can switch them off in the app or in iOS Settings.

7. Who we share data with

Only with the service providers above, so the app can work: Google (Firebase and, for the optional AI feature, Vertex AI), Adapty, Meta (advertising measurement, see section 3a) and Apple. They process data for us and for their own security and legal duties. We do not sell your data and we do not show ads inside the app. We may disclose data if the law requires it.

8. Keeping and deleting your data

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, the UK or California) you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, and to object to some processing. Most of this you can do in the app. For anything else, write to us.

10. Children

Ritmo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you think a child has given us data, write to us and we will delete it.

11. Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections and protected by access rules so that only you can read your own cloud records. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable care.

12. Not a medical service

Ritmo offers readings and quiet practices. It is not medical care, therapy or an emergency service. If you are in crisis, the app lists help lines under Settings, and you can always call your local emergency number.

13. Changes

If we change what the app collects, we will update this page first and tell you in the app before it starts.
